Join us April 29, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. on the NCTC campus at the First State Bank Center for the Performing Arts for the next Zoo After Dark Series: Cheetah Conservation. The Red River AAZK Chapter is hosting Brian Badger of the Cheetah Conservation Fund, based in Namibia, Africa. Red River AAZK is a Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers professional organization. The organization’s mission is: To advance excellence in the animal keeping profession, foster effective communication and promote the preservation of our natural resources and animal life. Frank Buck Zoo is fortunate to count among it’s animal family, resident cheetah brothers “Raphael” & “Leonardo”. Guest Brian Badger serves as the Director of Conservation and Outreach for the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF). He fascinates audiences with his first hand knowledge of the magnificent wild cheetah. Attendees will be invited to engage with interesting hands-on “bio-facts”. The Frank Buck Zoological Society & Starbucks will have beverages and baked goods for sale. A number of generous local merchants have made donations to the CCF raffle including: Home Depot (Huntington Grill), Rumpy’s (Gift Card), Starbucks (Gift Basket), Tractor Supply (Bird Bath & Bird Feeder), VIP Frank Buck Zoo tour that includes Flamingo Feeding for 6, Animal Art and more! All proceeds from the event go directly to Cheetah Conservation Fund. The cost to attend is $5 for adults. Students are free. Raffle tickets are $2 a piece at the door.
