DESCRIPTION:Scare on the Square is an event co-hosted by the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Development Association for children to trick-or-treat and shop with our local merchants.\n\nThe event will be tentatively held in Downtown Gainesville\, Texas on Saturday\, October 25\, 2025 from 2 4 PM.\n\nThis event features a Costume Contest\, a Downtown Window Decorating Contest\, music\, food trucks\, and more!\n\nThe Costume Contest will be held at the Farmers Market at 3:30 PM and winners will be announced at 3:45 PM. The divisions are:\n\n\n 0-3 years old\n 4-7 years old\n 8-12 years old\n 12-18 years old\n Adult\n Group\n\n\nParticipating merchants downtown will be given a Scare on the Square flyer to display in their window. Downtown merchants are also encouraged to participate in the window decorating contest. *This contest is only for businesses located in the Downtown District.* The photo your business submits for the contest will be placed on the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce Facebook page. The photo with the most "likes" will win $200! The winner will be announced at the Gainesville Farmers Market at the Scare on the Square event following the costume contest.\n\nFor businesses not located in the Downtown District\, we will have booth spaces available for $50 at the Gainesville Farmers Market for your business to participate and hand out candy to trick-or-treaters. There will also be music and food trucks.\n\nYour contact information will be used for internal purposes only\, but your business name will be used in all promotional advertisements for the event.
